Who we are

BRAC University Research for Development Club (BUReD) is a student-run co-curricular society focused on promoting research and innovation related to sustainable development and industry–academia collaboration. It operates under BRAC University's Office of Co-curricular Activities (OCA) and welcomes students from every discipline, including engineering, business, economics, humanities, law and the natural sciences.

Vision

A university where research is part of everyday student life and every student, in any discipline, has a clear path from curiosity to published, industry-tested work.

Mission

To give BRAC University students hands-on research experience through publications, competitions, seminars and field visits, connecting academic learning with the development themes that matter most to Bangladesh.

Advisor

Dr. Tarnima Warda Andalib

Assistant Professor, BRAC Business School

Dr. Tarnima Warda Andalib is an Assistant Professor at BRAC Business School and serves as BUReD's Faculty Advisor. She has personally led and accompanied students on the club's documented field research visits — including the Akij Food & Beverages manufacturing tour, the Augmedix Bangladesh session on AI in healthcare, and the icddr,b biomedical research visit — and guided the club through the publication of its first research journal, REFLECTION, Volume I. Her involvement anchors BUReD's research agenda in both academic rigor and direct, real-world exposure, connecting students across disciplines with institutions actively working on Bangladesh's development challenges.

Co-Advisor

Md. Saif Kabir

Lecturer, Office of Academic Advising

Md. Saif Kabir is a Lecturer in BRAC University's Office of Academic Advising and serves as BUReD's Co-Advisor. He was present at the formal launch of REFLECTION, Volume I on BRAC University's Merul Badda campus, alongside the University Registrar and Librarian, and supports the club's coordination with the Office of Co-curricular Activities. His guidance helps connect BUReD's student-led research and events with the university's broader academic advising structure.
